Inchinnan valley 1-1 UGFC

United ventured to Paisley with revenge in mind after their big day participating in the STUC Anti-racism march a fortnight ago was ruined by  a 0-1 defeat to Inchannan Valley.

Starting the game well, United's full backs were heavily involved early on as they looked to link up in wide areas and feed attackers running in behind, but they had to be wary to Inchinnan's direct counter attacks.

After wasting promising early chances, Donald eventually broke the deadlock on the half hour mark. Winning the ball in midfield, Scott had time to lift his head and his through ball was weighted perfectly. Donald's timing of his run was of similar quality and, after leaving the Inchinnan defence in his wake, he was well deserving of the accolade after slotting the the ball beyond the outrushing keeper.

United were unable to make the most of their momentum however, and Inchinnan were level before half time after poor defending failed to clear the danger and allowed them to convert a chance from 10 yards.

The second half was almost one way traffic with United on the offensive throughout, dictating the tempo and spreading play well. Marc, Donald and David all spurred great chances to put United back in the lead as Inchinnan were let off the hook by poor finishing more than once. Paul Georgie, replacing Fraser between the sticks who was concust the previous week, was largely a spectator throughout the second period but had to be alert to palm a rare Inchinnan effort wide.

Honours even in the end. Very much two points dropped for United who cut frustrated figures as the full time whistle sounded.  Inchinnan players just looked delighted the game was over...!
